When I was a little girl, I discovered a secret that felt almost magical. Whenever I slipped into gratitude—whether for the food on our table, the love in our home, or simply for feeling safe—I felt something wrap around me. A warmth. A peace. A knowing. It was as if the Creator whispered, “You are protected. You are guided.”
I didn’t have the language for it back then, but I felt it. And that feeling stayed with me my entire life.
As I grew older, life brought challenges, heartbreaks, reinventions, and choices that required courage. But through every season—especially the hard ones—I always returned to gratitude. Not because everything was perfect, but because gratitude was the doorway to the peace I needed.
Thanksgiving always brings me back to that child—wide-eyed, hopeful, sensing the divine in ordinary moments.
And today, as seasoned MujerPreneurs navigating life, business, emotions, and responsibilities, the miracle of gratitude still calls to us.
Because when things get tough, gratitude is the medicine that shifts everything.
My Daily Gratitude Ritual
(A ritual I taught to my yoga students as a 1,000-hour Yoga Professor—and one I still practice every single day.)
Every morning, before my feet touch the floor, before my mind remembers its lists or responsibilities, I begin in gratitude.
With my eyes still closed, I whisper:
“Thank you for a safe and restful night.”
“Thank you for the safety of my loved ones.”
“Thank you for the success, joy, and protection that surrounds us.”
“Thank you for the love and loyalty of my soul pups.”
Then I walk outside into the fresh morning air.
Arms wide open, heart lifted to the sky, I say:
“I am grateful for everything I have,
for all that I am,
and for all that I am about to become.”
I walk my garden for seven minutes, touching each plant gently, watering what needs to be watered, and repeating:
“Thank you. I love you.”
This ritual isn’t just a habit. It’s a spiritual anchor.
It brings me back to myself.
It reconnects me to faith.
It reminds me that the Creator is always moving with me, guiding me, whispering peace into my spirit.
The Knowing I Want You to Carry
When life feels heavy…
When business feels slow…
When doubt creeps in…
When fear tries to sit at your table…
Pause.
Breathe.
Place your hand on your heart and speak one gratitude.
Just one.
Because that single thread of gratitude can pull you back into alignment.
It can shift your energy.
It can change your entire day.
Gratitude is not a holiday.
It is a miracle.
A spiritual technology.
A divine recalibration.
A remembering.
And it always—always—brings you home to yourself.
So as you sit with your loved ones this thanksgiving remember to place a hand over your heart and gently close your eyes and conjure up and allow the feeling of gratitude to connect you to your feeling of love and gratitude.
