Some stories aren’t told with words. Aveces hay historias que no tienen palabras.
Some stories are woven.
They’re shaped by hands that have lived through generations of joy, struggle, faith, and corazón. In Episode 2 of my Morelia series, I found myself standing in front of women whose hands tell stories louder than any microphone ever could.
After the spiritual cleansing in the Purépecha church and the emotional connection with the first artisans I met, Day Two brought its own magic — the kind you can feel deep in your bones.
🌺 The Woman Who Weaves Heritage
As I walked through the hotel marketplace once again, I felt the same warm energy I felt on day one — collaboration, sisterhood, alegrĂa. But this time, one table called to me with a pull I can’t explain.
Hanging from a wooden display were handcrafted purses so intricately made that they stopped me mid-step. Bold colors. Fine stitching. Cultural symbols woven into every thread. These were not just bags — they were stories, passed down from abuelas to mothers to daughters. These are hand made with sustainable fabrics!
The artisan stood behind her table with quiet pride. She shared the fact that she was part of a team of 2 mujerpreneurs, the other mujer was in Paris, France for a textile convention.
This young lady told me, “Mi abuela me enseñó. Every stitch is a blessing.”
And I felt that.
Every purse radiated strength — mujer strength — the strength of survival and creativity and ancestral wisdom.
As I held one in my hands, I thought, These are the kinds of stories the world needs to see.
🧵 The Bears That Hold Love
Just a few steps away, another table burst with color — knitted keychains, playful wall hangings, and two tiny knitted bears hugging each other. They were soft, joyful, overflowing with heart.
The artisan behind this table was older, her eyes filled with spark and mischief.
She laughed as she told me, “Los ositos están abrazados para que no se pierdan. Just like nosotras.”
I melted.
Two small bears, knitted by hand, hugging so they wouldn’t lose each other.
If that’s not a metaphor for womanhood, I don’t know what is.
Her keychains danced in the breeze, each one unique, each one a burst of love and culture.
I picked up a pair of knitted bears and felt something stir in me — a reminder that our stories, like these bears, hold on to us even when life tries to pull us apart.
đź’ś When Mujeres Weave Together
The deeper I walked into that marketplace, the more I noticed something beautiful:
These women weren’t competing.
They were weaving community. Una comunidad de Mujeres emprendiendo juntas!
“Ve a ver sus bolsos, ella te va a encantar,” one said.
“Los ositos de ella son una ternura,” another whispered to me.
Collaboration — not competition.
Joy — not scarcity.
Unity — not comparison.
This is what leadership is supposed to look like.
This is what culture feels like when mujeres honor one another instead of outshining one another or for that fact being envious of each other.
And as I watched them, I thought:
Women who weave, weave more than fabric — they weave legacy.
✨ A Divine Reminder
Standing there, surrounded by color, laughter, heritage, and hope, I felt it again — that whisper from Spirit:
“Mija, tell their stories.”
And so I am.
These women are not just vendors. Estas mujeres son más que emprendedoras.
They are storytellers. Son Los Cuentacuentos.
Leaders.
Dreamers.
Creators of culture.
Guardians of tradition. Son las Guardias de tradiciĂłn.
And this series — The Soul of Morelia — is my way of honoring them, of bringing their magic, their products, and their purpose to the world.
Because when women/mujeres collaborate instead of compete,
we don’t just build businesses —
We build legacies.
💜 Juntas Podemos Más.
